Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park, caught glowing in the first rays of sunrise. A rainbow of reflection skitters across the surface of Bear Lake below, catching the vibrant hues of the mountain and surrounding forest.
Thanks. I was indeed hoping for some clouds, it would have made the photo truly stellar. There were some light, high clouds that would have looked awesome, however they were behind me when sunrise hit, and they were moving too slowly to wait for them to enter into the scene. All the light would have been gone by then. Sometimes you are just stuck with what you get.
Aye. Thats been one of the hard lessons of landscape photography...you either take what you get, or wait (sometimes days or weeks) for exactly what you want. I'm only 30 and still work full time (so never have any free time), but there are times when I really long for the freedom of retirement...I almost can't wait.
